Annotation & Art

This elective explores annotation as an art form. From Kameelah Janan Rasheed's text-based installations to Wendy Red Star's annotated Crow portraits, from Brassaï's photographs of Parisian graffiti to the murals at Playas de Tijuana, annotation has always been a visual and creative practice. This workshop introduces learners to artists who annotate, examines annotation as artistic production, and invites participants to create their own annotated art.
